Creating Pathways to the Future: Community Partnerships in Next Generation High Schools

  • Description: A 2021 Deloitte study cites 2.1 million U.S. manufacturing jobs could go unfilled by 2030, which presents serious challenges for the competitive health of the economy. This is certainly true for the Greenville, South Carolina region, which has many manufacturing companies with lucrative career offerings. Recognizing this, Greenville County Schools leadership enlisted the support of local industry partners to envision a new brand of high school, that begins to address this labor pipeline problem. Fountain Inn High School focuses on project based, personalized learning centered around Advanced Manufacturing with the mission of “creating pathways to the future for every student.”
