Unleash the Creative Potential of Diverse & Inclusive Teams

  • Description: Teams that are diverse bring together their varied experiences and unique perspectives to create more relevant and impactful designs- spaces that are welcoming and provide a sense of belonging. An important strategy to effect change is to lead a design process that is inclusive and empathetic. In this session, you will hear from women and minority architects and clients on their experiences pushing the boundaries of diversity, equity, inclusion + justice (DEI+J) in the design process- including engagement of students and the broader campus community. Case studies may include new student community centers at UC Berkeley and University of Denver.
