School Safety and You: Tools to Enhance K-12 School Security
Join representatives from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to learn the latest research about the systems-based approach to school physical security and design. The presentation will focus on how to conceptualize school physical security as a component of the broader school safety system. Presenters will address challenges in implementing physical security measures in K-12 schools. The session will share emerging threats and hazards facing the academic community and relevant Federal School Safety Clearinghouse and SchoolSafety.gov tools, guides, and grant funding opportunities. Participants will come away with actionable strategies to improve their school physical security.
